The situations we treat in Lasne

Seven situations, from rehabilitation after surgery to simply getting back in shape.

In brief

On veterinary referral, Kinevet treats six situations: recovery after surgery, osteoarthritis, dysplasia, overweight, neurological conditions and the preparation of sporting dogs — plus general fitness. Each indication points to the main technique: underwater treadmill, therapeutic laser or electrostimulation.

After surgery

Cruciate ligament, slipped disc, fracture, hip surgery. Rehabilitation starts as soon as your vet gives the go-ahead and limits muscle loss in the immobilised limb. In water, the dog bears weight early without loading the operated joint; the laser calms the scar and reduces swelling.

Osteoarthritis and older dogs

Morning stiffness, difficulty getting into the car, walks getting shorter. The aim is to maintain movement and comfort over time: warm-water sessions to loosen and rebuild muscle without impact, laser on painful joints.

Hip or elbow dysplasia

Solid muscular support around an imperfect joint greatly changes tolerance to exertion. The underwater treadmill allows strengthening without pain; the programme continues at home with simple exercises.

Overweight

Moving without damaging joints already stressed by the kilos. The underwater treadmill allows genuine endurance work with almost no impact, alongside the diet plan set by your vet.

Neurological disorders

After a spinal cord injury, work in water retrains the walking pattern with support the ground cannot provide. Electrostimulation can complement muscle work according to the indication set at the consultation.

Getting back in shape, no condition

A healthy dog is welcome too: a sedentary dog lacking exercise, a senior slowing down, a dog resuming activity after a long break. Walking in water builds endurance and muscle with no impact on the joints. The initial assessment rules out contraindications and sets a programme at its own pace.

On referral from your vet

We work alongside, not instead: diagnosis and treatment remain with your regular vet, who refers your dog to us and receives a report. If you do not yet have a referral, first book a first session with assessment (83 €, 45 min): we evaluate your dog and contact your vet.
