Therapeutic laser for dogs in Lasne: speeding up healing with light
Therapeutic laser (photobiomodulation) is low-intensity light that stimulates cell repair and reduces pain and inflammation. At Kinevet in Lasne, a session lasts 30 minutes and costs 35 € (package of 6 sessions: 192 €), alone or alongside hydrotherapy, on referral from your vet.
The therapeutic laser is not a cutting laser. It is low-intensity light that passes through the skin and acts on cells: this is called photobiomodulation. The light is absorbed by the mitochondria, the cell’s small power plants, which then produce more ATP — the energy the cell needs to repair itself.
In practice, three effects matter for rehabilitation: the cell works better so tissues rebuild faster; local circulation increases so swelling subsides and inflammatory mediators decrease so the area is less painful. That is why laser pairs well with hydrotherapy: it relieves the area being worked and a dog in less pain works better at the next session.
The session lasts a few minutes per area, requires no sedation and is not painful — most dogs feel at most a slight warmth. The eyes are protected and we repeat: the laser works cumulatively, over a series of closely spaced sessions.

Common indications for laser
- Recent surgical scar, wound slow to close

- Osteoarthritis, chronic joint pain
- Post-operative swelling and inflammation
- Lower back pain, after a slipped disc
- Ear infections and localised skin conditions
Contraindications: the laser is not applied to a tumour area, to a pregnant bitch or to an unprotected eye. The indication is set during the consultation, together with your regular vet.
